Traded across the historic routes connecting Africa, the Middle East and the Indian Ocean world, Nila beads have traveled extraordinary distances through both place and time. Many excavated examples are hundreds of years old, with some dating to roughly a thousand years ago or more.
Weathered blue glass, earthy Javanese white and Ethiopian brass come together in a wrap shaped by movement, exchange and the human hand.
